Bombay Black (HDV/70 Mins) - What do you get when you put two teen lesbians, a pimp, a wannabe rockstar, a DJ, a drug lord and an innocent boy together in a film? Well, you get 'Bombay Black'- a film about captivating stories of the youth related to love, deceit and innocence with a heavy metal score and slick camera work.
The Village Flower (HDV/60 Mins) - A wonderful film shot in the beautiful village of Palghar, just 2 hours from Mumbai. The film is about Titli, a young girl and her superstitious beliefs in a flower she saw one fine evening in the village forests. The young girl learns some valuable lessons in life thanks to the flower and her growing maturity. Village life in India is shown throughout the film and is an exciting journey on screen for all film lovers. The characters in the film include the hilarious 'Motu' that Titli always harasses. A fun filled 5560 minutes on the big screen which will make us wonder why we ever crave the big city life when real life is in the villages. A must watch film for the awesome performance on screen by 'Titli' played by 'Saina'. She will definitely win hearts and a 'best Actress' award or two with this role.
Life at 75 (HDV/55 Mins) - This film uses the narrative form using the diary of a 75 year old woman. The film also potrays the various stages of the old lady's life using pictures and stories. The memories, the pain, the joys, the boredom, the love, the sacrifice, the will to survive, the desire to let go, the joy of living, the sadness that death brings - life at 75. A ground breaking feature film with simple lessons and a tremendous acting stint by a really old woman.
The Sane Debater (HDV/9 Mins) - A debating class on a warm sunday afternoon in Mumbai. All the participants are actively involved in the debate. All except one. Then he speaks. And as they say, actions speak louder than words. Never trust the silent debater!
Old and Lonely (DVD/28 Mins) - An official selection of the Short Film Festival of Los Angeles in 2007 and winner for "Best Actress" at Pumelo International Film Festival 2007. This film depicts the everyday life of a 70 year old woman living by herself in a small apartment in Mumbai, India. Her ways of dealing with her everyday chores and duties are accurately displayed on screen without any dialogues. She is shown waking up, making her breakfast, dusting the furniture, eating lunch, sleeping, having tea, praying, etc. The touching part of this film is her loneliness and how she longs for the company of her grandson, son and daughter-in-law which is revealed in the last scene of the movie. This is certainly a must watch movie for it's deep meaning of loneliness in old age faced by senior citizens in any big city. The movie is easy on the eyes and must be watched for the acting of the old lady & how she potrays her character. The mundane life for senior citizens living by themselves is shown well by the old lady.
