Well, i live in an old victorian house on the top of a hill in a very old city. the house has been many things over the last couple of centuries, including a brothel, a squat, but now it is my home. my little sister and i live on the top floor, where most of the ghostly occurances seem to happen. apart from the obvious things, like the creaking and groaning, which can all be attributed to the house being old, there are a couple of other strange events. occassionally both our doors open at once, simultaneously with no provocation. (but i broke my door handle once after getting locked in and now the door doesnt shut, so this doesnt happen any more) electrical equipment also acts very strangely on the top floor. record players, radios, alarm clocks etc all work fine for about a month and then they just die. with no explaination or obvious reason. this is very strange and frustrating!!! we also have two dogs in our house, and while one of them is happy to go about her business (she is a puppy still and not very receptive) the other dog very very frequently will stand on the stair looking up to my bedroom and stare and stare at nothing, and then begin to bark. nothing will stop him barking until he believes whoever is up there has gone.
But the wierdest thing that happens involves the clock on the wall in my bedroom. as i mentioned before, after about a month of moving in, it stopped at ten to ten. it stayed there for several days, and since i am too lazy to take it down and change the batteries, i left it there. then i started to notice that its hands were beginning to move backwards. normal speed, but backwards. this went on for a few days, again. this was all several months ago, maybe more. but now the clock seems to move with no logic. i still have not changed the batteries, but i do not believe that slow batteries could make a clock eratic in the way that this clock is. occassionally i leave the room to get a cup of coffee, go to the loo, whatever, and the hands will move about 5 hours. then i will go to bed and the clock says a quater past four and when i wake up two, three hours later it will say 12 o clock. there is no pattern and no logic to the way it moves backwards and forwards.
I am not afraid to touch the clock, but i do not want to in case something or someone is trying to communicate with me through it. it also always stops for a day at a time at about 10 to 8. could this time be significant?
Has anyone else had an experience like this or any possible explaination?
Thank you
