I own horses and goats and i have had trouble with coyotes in the pass so i bought me a 22-250 with a night scope well one night my son came in my room and said grab the gun quick so i went and grabbed my gun and went out i set there for five minutes and the dogs wouldnt shut up so i let them loose to make shure if anything was out there and they ran to the tree line barked for about 5 secounds and bolted up to the garage with there tails between there legs. so now at this point i knew something was out there so i told my son to go get his 22 savage and he did we both loaded up and walked back to the tree line as soon as we got there my son shot in the bush and ran up to the house and left me out there so i figured it had been a coyote at this time the dogs had came back and the horses calmed down. (a few weeks later) i went back down in the daylight to repair some fence and were we were earlier were 4 huge claw marks in a wood fence post. then last mounth my son said grab the gun and this huge dog was in our front yard my son shot it with a broadhead and we watched it go in the thing just turned up and walked away...
